Concerts January - August 2016

Beethoven is a key composer in Argerich's schedule in 2016, with the first and second piano concerti being performed in January and February, as well as being featured in the programme for the upcoming tour of the Maisky-Argerich duo. The musical twosome will celebrate 40 years of friendship with 6 performances in Germany.

Also noteworthy is the concert in Berlin, where's Argerich will celebrate her 75th birthday at a benefit concert for the renovation of the Staatsoper Berlin on June 5. Partnered by her good friend Daniel Barenboim and the Staatskapelle Berlin, this promises to be a classical feast!

And in August, she will resurrect Liszt's first piano concerto for the first time in years! Alongside her will be the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and Daniel Barenboim. She starts the 'Liszt tour' in Buenos Aires, followed by Salzburg, Berlin, Lucerne and London.

Concerts November 2015

The new Philharmonie de Paris is hosting Argerich's tribute concerts to Claudio Abbado in November. Performing Prokofiev's third piano concerto (fingers crossed!!!), and partnered by the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under the dynamic direction of Andris Nelsons, the concerts promise to be knockout events!

Also noteworthy is the fact that the first concert, on 9 November, is a charity event in aid of the Institut Curie, to aid in its cancer research programme.

Concerts September 2015

Back in Europe after her summer in Argentina and Japan, Martha Argerich will perform Beethoven's second piano concerto in September, with Daniel Barenboim and his Staatskapelle Berlin. With the team, she will make a lightning visit to Vienna's famed Musikverein, followed by two concerts in Berlin.

Concerts August 2015

Following her highly-anticipated return to Argentina in July, Martha Argerich will perform two concerts in Japan. Here's hoping she'll get some well-deserved summer break afterwards!

Concerts July 2015

In July, Martha Argerich will give four concerts in Europe before leaving for Argentina for performances with Daniel Barenboim. And as is the norm now, Argerich will be partnered by longtime friends Mischa Maisky, Myung Whun Chung and Lilya Zilberstein.

Progetto Martha Argerich 2015

The fifteenth edition of Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano pays homage to two legendary pianists, Robert Schumann - a big love of Argerich - and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli - one of Argerich's mentors. A few of Schumann's rarer works for piano will be featured during the festival, and other highlights include a performance of Debussy's 'En blanc et noir' with one of Argerich's favourite artists, Stephen Kovacevich.
